How to Fix Golf Ball Marks - BC Golf Pages

Hi, I'm Alex Ludeman Teaching Professional at Burnaby Mountain Golf Course. Today we're going to be talking about the proper way to fix a ball mark. What most people try to do when they try to fix a ball mark is to stick their repair tool in and they will try to pull the dirt up. When we do that we are actually bringing up all the dirt and leave brown spots all around the green. The proper way to do it is to stick our repair tool in and push in and twist. Then tap it down. By doing this, we're pushing all that grass and the dirt that the ball has pushed out to the outside and we are putting it back to it's original spot. The grass is going to grow back a lot better and we're also going to have a nice greener green for the rest of the summer.
