Ball Position on the Tee - BC Golf Pages

Hi I'm Dan Swanson head professional at Guilford Golf and Country Club. Today I'm going to talk about where you position your ball on the tee could determine your shot pattern. I don't know if you've noticed but when you see the pros, they choose a spot on the tee where they are going to tee up on. If the person will tee up on the left side of the tee box. That will determine that they want to set up a draw shot or a hook. If you are on the right side, you want to hit a fade or a slice. What this does is open up the hole better for you to start on the left side and bring it back to the right. For me on this shot, I'm going to be hitting it fade so I'm going to tee up on the right side of the tee box. Tee it up on the right side and it opens up the hole a lot better for me. Visualize the shot, step up, and hit it.
